One person has reportedly died after drowning in River Nyamughasana in Kyarumba Town Council, Bukonzo County East in Kasese District.
The Town Council Chairperson -elect, Landus Promise Mumbere has confirmed the incident to Messiah Radio on phone.
Mumbere explains that during midday, rain started falling down in the upper areas of Kyarumba Sub-county and slightly in Kyarumba Town Council.
Mumbere says during the incident, one Evelyn Masika who had had crossed to Kyondo Sub-county side, was taken away by the flooded water of River Nyamughasana, leaving the children aside who were rescued by the residents.
Following the incident, Mumbere has warned the residents who carry out their farming activities in valleys across the district to stay alert during the current rainy season.
