Background

South Rwenzori Messiah Radio is a legendary radio station in Kasese that first went on air on August 15, 1998.  Established under the leadership of the then Bishop of South Rwenzori Diocese, Rt Rev Zebedee Kahangwa Masereka, the radio was intended to amplify evangelism.

Kasese, where South Rwenzori Diocese lies, is a mountainous district; Bishop Masereka felt the need to put in place infrastructure to support his pastoral work, Messiah Radio came in handy.

Rev. Solomon Badaaki

Position: Station Manager

Motivational speaker and Preacher with a proven track in administering the Youth and mediating Christians in disputes. Skilled in team leadership, Rev. Badaaki is a strategic professional with a Bachelors of Project Planning and Entrepreneurship from Uganda Christian University UCU and is a scholar perusing Masters in Human Resource Management from Mountains of the Moon University MMU.

He has served in a multiplicity of ministry and Leadership positions. Currently, he is serving with Messiah Radio as station manager. Messiah Radio, is a commercial radio station broadcasting on 97.5MHz. It is founded and run by the Church of Uganda-South Rwenzori Diocese, since 1998.

Also, he is serving as the Diocesan youth and student’s coordinator, between 2017 and 2019, he taught at Kagando School of laboratory and theater technology in the department of Management, he supervised an EU project of Disaster risk reduction as a line’s manager for an EU Volunteer to Church of Uganda. He also worked as head of programs with South Rwenzori Diocese in the Department of development and planning, subsequently in the same year, he coordinated an HIV care and support project for joint clinical research center in the districts of Kasese, Kabarole and Bundibugyo in 2015. Rev. Badaaki supervised in 2014 a Christian Aid funded project code named Malaria Control that had its offices in Kasese with South Rwenzori Diocese.

Among other positions the Church Minister has held includes business couch for women in Entrepreneurship under TEChnoServe International-Uganda, he also played a role in care taking of different Churches across the South Rwenzori Diocese. As if that is not enough, Rev. Badaaki has attended different trainings with exposure, with this, he is good at conducting psychosocial support and adaptability, parenting, entrepreneurship and small business management, Disaster and risk preparedness and emergency response. He does trainings on project planning and management, and human resource and employee relations.

The Church minister is also known as a business oriented man, he owns a personal business entity WAKWELI STATIONERS AND ARTISTS. When he retires from active church service and radio, he intends to be fulltime managing his family business and skills center with much concentration on commercial fine art and craft work. During his free time, he loves listening to educative and Gospel Music, he likes storytelling and reading novels.
