A 35- year-old woman from Nyamwamba West Cell, Nyamwamba Division of Kasese Municipality is nursing panga cuts that she sustained after one of the residents in the area allegedly attacked her while at her home.
The incident happened today morning.
It is alleged that Peninah Ithungu, a victim was attacked by one identified as Bwambale at around 7am who cut her on the face using a panga.
Ithungu told the press that she had not yet ascertained the reasons behind the cause because she was not an associate of the suspect.
According to Ithungu, when she made an alarm, the suspect immediately ran away, leaving her helpless until some of the residents came and rescued her.
The area Vice Chairperson, Amon Mutsukunda confirmed the incident. He, however, revealed that the suspect is known for always being drunk, attributing the evil act to the influence of alcohol.
He noted that they would work with the police to hunt for him so that he answers the charges that would be preferred to him.
Mutsukunda warned the young people against the practice of alcoholism, stressing that if not careful, it would impair their minds.
