Thugs break into Kasese District Multipurpose Hall

The police in Kasese have launched investigations into which yet unknown people broke into the District Multipurpose Hall in Kisagazi Cell, Nyamwamba Division of Kasese Municipality and ran away with doors and tables from building.

SP Wilfred Isaiah Bagenda, the Kasese Divisional Police Commander confirmed the incident that happened last night to Messiah Radio today morning but did not divulge the details.

However, Mr. Mustafa Kikusa, the Principal Assistant Secretary in the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer told the press that the thieves ran away with five doors from the multipurpose building, five tables that were kept in the same house and two metallic poles on which flags fly.

According to him, after being awash with information about the incident, they alerted police that swung into action but found when the scene had been tempered with by people who had come to the area for a meeting.

He also revealed that recently, some other items including security lights were stolen while the fence around the building and the gate were also vandalized.

Mr. Kikusa has sounded a stern warning to the members of public to desist from the practice of vandalizing government property, describing it as criminal and punishable in courts of law.
