South Rwenzori Diocesan Bishop tells parents to make education their priority

BY MOUREEN BIIRA

The Bishop of South Rwenzori Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Nason Baluku has re-echoed his call to parents to make all the possible sacrifices to ensure their children acquire a decent education.

Bishop Baluku says there are many learners who do not attain a good performance at various levels of education simply because their parents did not do much to ensure their children have access to tools of better performance.

The prelate highlighted good meals and adequate scholastic materials as a must-get for learners to understand what they study in class.

The Man of God also asked parents to have respect and love for their children and their teachers explaining that parental love is very vital in proper education of the child.

He also explained the role stakeholder collaboration and engagement plays in enhancing the performance of any school.

Bishop Baluku made the remarks while speaking to the congregation that had thronged Atlas Model Primary School on Friday February 16 to celebrate its 20 years of establishment.

Meanwhile, Mrs.  Edith Masereka, the Director at Atlas Model Primary School asked the government to always support private schools with teaching and learning materials whenever there are changes in syllabus or curriculum.
