The residents complain that they stay far away from health units, prompting some of them to depend on herbalists, who are sometimes not technical enough to diagnose some elements.
Mr. Johnson Byabojo, the Chairperson for Bigando Trading Center, says that the lack of healthcare services affects their standards of living because the people keep in homes with diseases without medication, hence limiting their productivity.
Byabojo also notes that the area doesn’t have public schools and passable roads hence exacerbating the rate of school drop-outs in the area.
Mr. Jacob Kalhungamakuha, another resident says that due to the remoteness of their village and its proximity to the national park, they do not get information about government programs that are meant for socio-economic empowerment.
According to him, whenever they call on the leaders especially those in the production sector, they demand transport refund which they are not in position to afford.
He asks for an affirmative program that are geared towards developing the area which he claims has lagged behind in matters of development. ENDS.
