The Rwenzururu King, Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere Iremangoma has tasked the leaders from Kasese district to advocate for the replacement of an ambulance at Bwera Government General Hospital in Mpondwe –Lhubiriha Town Council.

Last year, an ambulance belonging to the Health facility caught fire in Bunyangabu while rushing a patient to a Kampala based health facility for specialized treatment and since then the only Government General Hospital in Kasese district has remained without ambulance services.

While presenting a status report about Bwera Government General Hospital to the Rwenzururu King who had paid a courtesy visit to the health facility yesterday, the facility’s Senior Administrator, Mr. Clarence Bwambale Mumbahya explained that they were in dire need of an ambulance at the hospital to cater for emergencies and referrals.

Addressing the public later at Bwera Playground, Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere Iremangoma wondered why the elected leaders including the Members of Parliament from the area had allegedly failed to lobby government and advocate for a replacement of an ambulance to help the people.

Omusinga tasked them to lay down some strategies aimed at lobbying government to allocate another ambulance to the facility that makes 12 referrals on a monthly basis.

The Omusinga also asked the Members of Parliament to join him in the struggle of advocating for the construction of an aerodrome (Airport) in Kasese district that he said would come along with many benefits to the people across the district.
