Omusinga praises government for combating the spread of Ebola

The Rwenzururu King, Omusinga Charles Wesely Mumbere Irema-ngoma has commended the government for its tireless efforts in forestalling the spread of the Ebola Virus Disease which is wreaking havoc in the neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo-DRC.

Omusinga Mumbere who was addressing the press yesterday at his palace in Kasese town, recognized the efforts of government in protecting the lives of the people from contagious ailments including Ebola.

Omusinga highlighted that he is appreciative to the government’s quick decision to close the borders with Congo, where the disease is believed to have not only resisted but also claimed a lot of people.

Omusinga, however, urged the subjects to continue adhering to the guidelines issued by the ministry of health until the government the country is declared completely free of the virus disease.

The Rwenzururu King also discouraged his subjects from consuming foods especially meat that has not been verified by health inspectors.

The Cultural leader used the same opportunity to implore his people to generally improve their sanitation and hygiene so as to reduce their exposure to several diseases.
