Leaders in Nyakabingo, Kasese District ask residents to assist them in investigating suspected killers of a 63-year-old woman

Leaders in Nyakabingo Sub-county, Kasese District have asked the residents in the area to assist them in making investigations of that could aid the identification of the suspects that participated in the murder of a 63-year-old woman.

On Sunday morning, the residents woke up in shock after finding one of their own identified as Merizolina Kyakimwa, a resident of Nyakasojo Upper Village, having been killed by yet unknown assailants and her body was found lying in a kitchen belonging to her friend, Adesi Masika who resides at Bukumbia Trading Centre.

While addressing the mourners yesterday during the burial of the deceased’s body, the Nyakasojo Upper L. C I Chairperson, Henry Bwambale, appealed to the residents living near the scene of crime to volunteer in giving out information to the authorities in order to aid the investigations and apprehension of the suspects.

He, however, cautioned them against taking the law into their hands should they discover any clue about the suspects but rather disclose the information to the leadership for further management.

Charles Thembo Kahitison, the Nyakabingo Sub-county Chairperson, courted the residents to be security conscious through prioritizing their personal security.

He also underscored the need for the people to always embrace making postmortems of their murdered victims for future reference.
