A section of businessmen in Kasese District have raised an alarm over the frequent power shutdowns, arguing that the challenge has not only led to low production but also causing them to make losses.
Mr. Peter Nasasira, a worker at Muwofa Sweet Cakes Bakery in Kinyamaseke Town Council complains that power shutdowns are affecting their operations at the bakery.
He explained that several clients are not able to receive their orders because the power disconnections do not allow them to produce on time.
Rev. Gerald Kule Mutendaji, one of the directors at Muwofa Sweet Cakes Bakery, calls on the power distributor UEDCL to ensure that they tag their staff because some people have started collecting money from the clients in pretense that they are working with the company.
Rev. Mutendaji made all those complaints while at the UEDCL offices at Bwera, where the officials at the time told him that they are working on the issues and promised a rectification soon. ENDS
