Kasese district is set to host the regional music festival for primary schools that will begin tomorrow at Kamaiba Primary School.
Mr. Benon Dan Masereka, the Headteacher of Kamaiba Primary School, has confirmed that 5 out of 13 schools that will participate in the Music, Dance and Drama competition have already arrived at Kamaiba Primary ahead of the three-day competition.
Masereka says the host school is in touch with the district administrator’s office to ensure the festival comes to a successful end.
He observed that Kamaiba Primary School has given a three-day leave to her students who are not direct participants in the music dance and drama competition to provide room for the visiting schools to be accommodated.
Ms. Sarah Kakumba, the headteacher at Kajwenge Primary School, who spoke to our reporter shortly after arriving at the host school, said he is confident that his school will perform very well in the competitions.
Ms. Alice Masika, a teacher at Bwera Demonstration School, assured parents that as teachers they are in charge to ensure that the participating learners are in safe hands during the period of the competition.
Mr Gillian Mafunguro, the music coordinator for western region, says the regional festival provides an opportunity for the learners to showcase their talent in music, dance and drama which also helps to boost their confidence.
