The Kasese Resident District Commissioner has castigated the Female Youth Councilor for Mbunga Sub-county over remarks that cases of HIV/AIDS infections have increased following establishment of many UPDF detaches in the district.
Ms Mariam Kyakimwa Nyaboosi while speaking to the Rwenzururu subjects yesterday at Busara Playground in Muhokya Sub-county attributed the escalating rate of HIV/AIDS infections to big number of detaches across the district.
Her remarks angered the RDC, Lt. Joe Walusimbi who in his address to the same congregation cautioned the Councilor against speaking just for the sake of pleasing her electorate over personal feelings.
The RDC wondered why the public has never reported any cases related to rape by the armed officers if they do occur in their villages.
Kasese District Chairperson, Mr. Eliphaz Muhindi Bukombi expressed worry over the Councilors remarks, asking why some people are not appreciating the role and importance of security in their respective areas.
