He also tips the residents hailing from the peripherals of the Municipality to get ready and comply with the policy since it is being implemented in the whole country in order to avoid the consequences.
Mr. Geoffrey Bamanyisa, the Kasese Municipal Town Clerk says the move is in line with the implementation of the trade order policy that was enacted by the Government of Uganda.
He was speaking to the press this evening at the Mayors’ Gardens in Kasese Town. He says the affected traders have between today and lately tomorrow to have voluntarily removed their illegal structures before the enforcement team reached the field to demolish them with other strings attached.
Bamanyisa advises the people operating their business along the walkways including containers and kiosks to instead look for rooms or relocate to gazetted market places.
SP Nelson Tumushime, the Rwenzori East Regional Police Spokesperson, assures the residents that the police would back-up the enforcement officers, asking the community members to cooperate with them in order to have a successful operation.
