The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) leadership in Kasese District has said it is ready to meet the leadership of Katonga Faction led by Kampala Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago and FDC founding President, Dr. Kizza Besigye and explain to them the reasons they decided to pay their allegiance to Najjanankumbi.

On Monday, January 22, 2024, the FDC representatives from all sub-counties across Kasese district and the District Executive Committee resolved to put to an end the issues of the two party factions of Katonga and Najjanankumbi and work together under one umbrella of “One Uganda, One People,” with its headquarters in Najjanankumbi.

While addressing our reporter yesterday at his office in Kasese town, Mr. Ronald Bwambale Kabuku, the District FDC Chairperson explained that they are not regretting their decision, adding that they are also ready to meet the Katonga faction and explain why they decided to support Najjanankumbi, the official headquarters of FDC party.

Kabuku maintained that their reunion as Katonga and Najjanankumbi factions would make the party so strong to win most political seats across the district in the 2026 general elections, appealing to the party National leaders to bury their hatchets and work towards uniting the party members and supporters across the country.
