A section of residents from Kasese district have today welcomed and endorsed Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s pronouncement to stand for president in 2031.
Recently, through his aide and Kasambya Member of Parliament David Kabanda, Gen Muhoozi declared that he would stand as president of Uganda in 2031 to succeed his father Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who will have been at the helm of the country for 45 years.
The launch of the PLU register and endorsement was held today at Virina gardens in Kasese Municipality
Mr. Enock Muhindo, who was representing the Regional Coordinator of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), Hon. Kabyanga Kiima, stressed that the endorsement of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba as their preferred candidate for the next president of Uganda is a manifestation of prior preparation as the country gears up for the 20231 elections.
Hon. Boaz Kafuda, the Kasese District NRM Vice Chairperson, commended PLU members for being patriotic and for the tremendous work they have done in supporting the government programs, adding that PLU and the NRM share a common goal of development before adding that Muhoozi’s presidency would ensure a peaceful transition that Uganda has longed for in a long period of time.
Meanwhile, Lt. Joe Walusimbi, the Kasese RDC who was the chief guest, called upon the residents of Kasese to welcome the vision of the Patriotic League of Uganda and rally behind it with extra support.
