200 expectant mothers receive mama kits from Kithulha Care Initiative

Kithulha Care Initiative in partnership with Hope for Sustainable Development –Uganda on Monday donated birthing kits (mama kits) to at least 200 expectant mothers in the Central and Nyamwamba Divisions of Kasese Municipality.  

The beneficiary expectant mothers mostly from Kanyangeya, Railway and Nyamwamba East Wards received their mama kits yesterday at their respective ward offices.

In his address, Mr. Charles Mwanga Nzaghale, the Chief Executive Officer at Kithulha Care Initiative explained that the organization collaborated with Hope for Sustainable Development –Uganda and secured funding from Birthing Kit Foundation Australia to help the expectant mothers get safe delivering kits.

He used the same platform to encourage the fathers to always escort their pregnant wives while attending antenatal care.

Donah Muhindo, the Project Manager at Hope for Sustainable Development –Uganda, revealed that her organization was much committed to helping expectant mothers, adding that a second phase of the mama kits would be supplied in June this year.

Mr. Johnson Kule Kibogho, the Nyamwamba Division Councilor representing Kanyangeya Ward commended Kithulha Care Initiative for lobbying Hope for Sustainable Development – Uganda to support the mothers.

Some expectant mothers who received the mama kits hailed the donors for their kind support to them.
