Two people arrested on allegations of unlawfully exhuming a dead body in Kasese

The police in the Rwenzori Policing Region, Kasese district have arrested two people on allegations of unlawfully exhuming a dead body.

The Regional Police Spokesperson, SP Nelson Tumushime has identified the suspects as Arnold Mumbere and Exevia Baluku, who according to him disrupted the peace of a dead body that they exhumed from Kyogha South Village, Bwera sub-county, Bukonzo County West in Kasese district last month.

According to him, the suspects are currently detained at Bwera Divisional Police headquarters in Mpondwe –Lhubiriha Town Council. 

SP Tumushime further explains that the suspects have been charged of exhuming a dead body without a Court Order.

He also used the same platform to reveal that they were having in custody a 63 – year – old man on allegations of aggravated defilement.

The suspect has been identified as Kennedy Hubari who was arrested on Monday after reportedly defiling the minor whose name has been withheld from the press.

Meanwhile, the territorial police in Kasese Division today morning registered a case of homicide involving a man aged between 35 and 40 who was discovered dead in Kasese town. 

The deceased has only been identified by police as one Bwambale, a resident of Nyakasanga in Nyamwamba Division but hailing from Kyarumba Sub-county in Bukonzo County East.
