38 –year – old mechanic arrested in Kasese on allegations of aggravated robbery.

The police in Kasese district, Rwenzori East Policing Region are holding a 38 – year –old motor vehicle mechanic on allegations of aggravated robbery.
SP Nelson Tumushime, the Regional Police Spokesperson has identified the suspect as Ronald Kusemererwa, a resident of Nyakasanga Lower Cell in Nyamwamba Division of Kasese Municipality who is accused of allegedly stealing at least five motorcycles.
Addressing the press today morning at Kasese Central Police Station in Kasese town, Tumushime disclosed that the suspect was arrested last evening along with exhibits that include an engine, some spare parts and number plates.
The recovered number plates are UFA 914L, UFD 991M, UFD 480A, UGD 059F and UFN 235S.
The Regional Police Mouthpiece revealed that they were also investigating another related case where a motorist was attacked by yet to be identified people who hit him on the head and took away with his motorcycle registration number UFA 914L.
According to him, the incident happened yesterday at Kilembe Quarters Cell in the Central Division and the victim was taken to Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital in Kasese town from where he is receiving treatment.
