A section of residents of Karambi Sub County has expressed concern over the laxity with which health workers attend to patients at the various health units.

Mrs. Pelusi Masereka complains of the late reporting at work in addition to absenteeism from duty practiced by the various health workers.

Mr. Matthias Masereka says the problem is exacerbated by inadequate medical supplies at the health units where the facilities are always grappling with drug stock-outs.

The residents who were last evening addressing the Kasese Deputy RDC in charge of Bukonzo County at Wacha Mudomo Trading Center during a dialogue aimed at eradicating household poverty and enhancing community health.

Lt. Maate Magwara responded that despite such challenges, the residents however need to appreciate the efforts of government in improving social services including the health sector where public medical facilities have been established in every parish.

Just yesterday, Kasese District received a consignment of medical supplies from the National Medical Stores after over six months without the supply of drugs. ENDS
