The Enumerators and Parish Supervisors recruited to conduct the sixth 2024 National Housing and Population Census have ended their training.
The training targeting 114,460 Enumerators and 18,483 Supervisors started on April 30th and ended today countrywide.
Kasese district with 44 lower local governments and more than 800 villages saw Enumerators and Supervisors being flagged off to go and enumerate the people as they move from door-to-door.
Paul Bwambale Mukokoma, the Sub-county Chief for Mahango Sub-county explained that 52 people from the lower local government have been trained to successfully conduct the 10- day census exercise.
He told the Enumerators and Supervisors to gather crucial information about the country’s population and housing demographics.
Mukokoma assured the public in Mahango that the team has been trained to gather accurate data.
The Mahango Gombolola Internal Security Officer-GISO, Mr. Augustine Kule Kabunzungwire encouraged household heads to stay at their respective homes during the census period and cooperate with the Enumerators to facilitate accurate and comprehensive data collection.
Mr. Julius Kule Kyasuba, the Mahango Sub-county Chairperson, stressed that the Enumerators would be accompanied by their respective LC1 leaders who would introduce them to the households.
Census, slated to run for 10 days from May 10 to May 19 kicks off on Thursday, May 9th, which has been described as a Census Night and it is themed on, “It’s important that everyone is counted.”
