The Executive Director for the Uganda Youth Forum in the office of the First Lady, Mr. Leonard Imanishimwe has donated shillings 1.1 million to help in the construction works of a temporary foot bridge on River Sebwe that connects Nyamwamba Division with Bugoye sub-county.
The donation follows a public outcry by the people from Kemihoko II, Mwaro amd Keyiguza who were in need of a bridge that helps them cross to either sides of the river seeking social services.
The money was last evening delivered by Mr. Neckson Thaheramboko who appealed to the concerned leaders to use the donation appropriately.
Mr. Jonathan Byarugaba Kisanja, the Nyamwamba Division NRM Chairperson, who went with the team that delivered the money, hailed Mr. Imanishimwe for the support, asking the construction team to ensure quality work.
Mr. Faruku Kanyangeya, the Vice Chairperson for Kemihoko II Cell told our reporter that the bridge was worthy being, saying it was the only route that connects the area to most social services including schools and healthy facilities.
Ms. Annet Natukunda, a resident in the area, appealed to government to borrow a leaf and construct more bridges for connectivity.
