Msgr Bwambale appeals to Christians to pray, fast and give to the needy

The Vicar General of the Catholic Diocese of Kasese Msgr Dr Landus Bwambale has appealed to Christians to maximally appreciate the lent season and embark on prayer, fasting and acts of charity.

Msgr. Dr. Landus Bwambale made the remarks yesterday while speaking to the press shortly after delivering his homily at Kansanga Roman Catholic Church in Mpondwe-Lhubiriha Town Council.

Msgr. Landus says that praying, fasting and almsgiving play a pivotal role in bringing Christians nearer to God.

The man of God, however, reiterates that supporting the under privileged doesn’t stop at giving them material items but also offering spiritual nourishment and psychological healing.

Meanwhile Kasanga PHC held a fundraiser today to generate 1.2 billion shillings that is meant raise funds to facilitate the construction of a theatre and maternity ward at the health unit.

Msgr Landus noted that the theatre and the maternity ward are meant to accommodate the increasing number of expectant mothers that flood the facility.

The third deputy Prime Minister Ms Lukia Nakadama who was invited as chief guest was represented by former Defense Minister Dr. Crispus Kiyonga. ENDS
