Omusinga concerned about the lack of CT scanner services in health facilities across the Rwenzori sub-region

The Rwenzururu King, Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere Iremangoma has said he is concerned about the lack of CT scanner services in all health facilities in Kasese district and the entire Rwenzori sub-region.

The Omusinga sounded the remarks on Tuesday evening while addressing his subjects from the family of Dr. Julius Monday Bwambale Rude that had paid a courtesy visit to his Kamaiba based Royal Palace in Kasese town.

The visit to the Omusinga by the Rude family was aimed at congratulating the Rwenzururu Cultural leader for his message of peace building and for lobbying some development projects to the people of Kasese from President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

The Omusinga presented the concern while responding to report read to him by Dr. Rude indicating that his subjects were facing a number of health challenges related to inability to access improved health services including a CT scanner.

In his report, Dr. Rude stressed that the people from Kasese and the entire Rwenzori sub-region get improved health services from either Mbarara or Kampala, something that puts their lives at risk following the long distances travelled and the costs involved.

Dr. Rude requested the King to plan for the establishment of a Kingdom’s improved health facility that would help many subjects to get medical services despite being a source of income to the Cultural Institution.

In his response, the Omusinga said he was concerned by the lack of such improved health services, arguing that the distance from Kasese to Mbarara is not friendly to the patients who are in critical conditions.

He therefore challenged the leaders to lobby for such health services for the benefit of the people in the entire region.

The Omusinga used the same platform to reveal that President Museveni has pledged to donate an ambulance to the Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu for the benefit of both the Royal family and the subjects.

The Rwenzururu Queen, Her Highness Agnes Ithungu Asimawe, hailed Dr. Rude and family for joining the peace building campaign and for comforting the Royal family when the King was still under incarceration.

She observed need for the politicians to continue sensitizing the people about the five pillars that are contained in the rebranding process of the Cultural Institution so that everyone appreciates them.
