South Rwenzori Diocesan Bishop urges Christians to join fellowships

BY MATHIUS KAHUNGU

Christians in South Rwenzori Diocese have been urged to embrace the idea of joining church fellowships as avenues for soliciting social capital and enhancing their spiritual growth.

The Diocesan Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Nason Baluku, says the church’s initiative to establish fellowships such as the Christian Women Fellowship, the Ruth Ministry and the Mothers’ Union is meant to ensure that the Christians get avenues for experience sharing, social capital and devising possible solutions to their daily challenges.

The Prelate sounded the advice today while addressing the Christians who had thronged St. John’s Munkunyu Church of Uganda Parish to witness the confirmation of 110 Christians into the Anglian faith.

According to the Man of God, embracing the church fellowships would be a ground for lobbying government to extend poverty alleviations to the Christians coupled with those that would come through the church.

Earlier in his preaching, the Bishop emphasized the need for the Christians to continue praying without ceasing, noting that it was through prayer that God would perform his miracles onto them.

He discouraged them from using fellowships and prayer sessions as avenues for backbiting and character assassinating their counterparts.
