ASP Elly Maate, the Rwenzori East Regional Police Spokesperson identifies the deceased as Stephen Masereka Kangalighali, a security guard of Jimark Security Company.
ASP Maate says that is alleged that, today morning at around 8am, the area chairperson of Kyondo cell, was informed that the deceased’s room had been seen locked and there was a smell of rat poison coming out of the said room.
This prompted the chairperson to call the Officer in charge of Rukoki Police station, who responded and upon breaking the room, they found when the deceased was lying lifeless on the floor.
The scene of crime was visited and documented, the body was retrieved from the scene and conveyed to Kasese municipal health centre mortuary for a postmortem examination to ascertain the cause of the death as investigations into the matter were launched. ENDS
