The South Rwenzori Diocese is set to receive and host the archbishop of the Church of Uganda His Grace Stephen Kazimba Mugalu who is expected in the diocese next week.

The leader of the Anglican church in Uganda will arrive on Saturday this week and climax his pastoral visit on Sunday 23rd at St Paul’s Cathedral where he will address believers across the entire diocese and bid them farewell since his retirement is fast approaching.

Rt Rev Nason Baluku, the bishop of South Rwenzori Diocese, has rallied all Christians across the diocese to turn up in big numbers at Rugendabara-Kikongo Town Council on Friday where the archbishop will officially be ushered into the diocese.

He reiterated the humble appeal while addressing Christians who had thronged all Saints Kighando Church of Uganda parish in Bwera Archdeaconry during his pastoral visit shortly after presiding over a confirmation service that saw 49 Christians confirmed into the Anglican faith.

Earlier in his sermon, the bishop courted believers in Christ to embrace permanent and unconditional forgiveness as means of restoring broken relationships and have everlasting peace of mind.

The Bishop emphasized that committed believers ought to emulate the acts of the Biblical Joseph who was sold to Egypt as a slave by his brothers but his humility led him out of the pit only to find himself serving in the Pharaoh’s palace.

The prelate additionally tipped Christians to work towards becoming role models instead of becoming infamous for causing trouble in their communities.
