Residents of Mirami II Village of Karambi Sub-county in Kasese District were left in shock onn Thursday morning after they discovered the body of a suspected premature baby dumped in a coffee plantation.
According to an eyewitness, Biira Josephine, residents found the body while heading to their gardens. She said the baby, believed to have been between eight and nine months premature, is suspected to have been dumped during the night by an unknown person.
The Vice Chairperson of Mirami II Village, Edson Mulekya, confirmed the incident, which he condemned before adding that efforts are underway to establish the culprit.
Mulekya urged young people and mothers to avoid abortion and other related crimes, encouraging them to seek guidance whenever they face challenges in their relationships.
