Rwenzururu Queen emphasizes saving among people

The Queen of Rwenzururu Kingdom, Her Royal Highness (Nyabaghole) Agnes Ithungu Asimawe has urged the residents of Busongora County North to prioritize the saving culture so that they are enabled to support their school-going children.

Nyabaghole sounded the advice today afternoon while officially opening Nyabaghole Ekighona Savings and Credit Cooperative Society Ltd in Rugendabara – Kikongo Town Council.

According to her, a family that embraces the saving culture becomes able to pay school fees of their children and fund other developments.

Justine Muhindo Mutabazi, the Assistant Resident District Commissioner for Kasese, urged the residents to engage in commercial farming. According to her, the residents should grow cocoa and coffee alongside food crops in order to generate money for saving and ensuring food security.

Earlier, Christine Atuhaire, the Rugendabara – Kikongo Town Council Vice Chairperson, outlined some challenges being faced in the Lower Local Government including the lack of improved health services particularly the maternity services at the existing health facilities in the area.

Mr. Edson Muhyana, the Rugendabara – Kikongo Town Council Chairperson -elect request the Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu to lobby for State House scholarships for the students in an attempt to boost educational levels in Busongora County North.
