Kasese: Leaders call for repentance during the lent season

Leaders in Kasese District have urged the people to use the fasting season to repent, forgive, help and support the disadvantaged persons.

The leaders, who spoke to Messiah Radio yesterday shortly after attending the different Christian gathering to mark the beginning of fasting season, noted that this period is very significant in the lives of Christians.

MrEliphaz Muhindi Bukombi, the Kasese District Chairperson stresses that since the Lenten has been started few weeks from the political season, it is the time for politicians to make amends with one another given the bruises they went through during the political season.

Muhindi prays for a peaceful lent season that is associated with visiting the sick and comforting those who might be heart-broken so that they can realize hope restoration.

Mr. Alfred Masereka, the District Councilor –elect for Kyarumba sub-county concurs the district chairperson, calling for repentance of the sins of mankind.

Simeho Masereka Karubika, the newly elected District councilor for Nyakabingo sub-county appeals to the people to work for peace and embrace joint prayers of the people within their families.
