Nyakatonzi residents in Kasese district asked to prioritize their children education

Residents of Nyakatonzi Sub-county in Bukonzo County East, Kasese District have been encouraged to prioritise educating their children for a better future.

The encouragement was sounded today by the Kasese Deputy Resident District Commissioner in-charge of Bukonzo County, Lt Maate Magwara, while meeting a section of members of Muhumuza Nyakatonzi Cattle Keepers’ Cooperative Society at Nyakatonzi Sub-county headquarters.

Lt. Magwara expressed disaffection after inspecting Nyakatonzi Primary School and realized a low turnout of the pupils.

Schools countrywide reopened their doors for first term on February 10, 2026.

He also asked the people of Nyakatonzi to utilize the Mubuku Presidential Skilling Hub so that their children acquire skills for self-reliance and economic sustainability.

Magwara used the platform to warn a few cattle keepers against what he called the impunity of feeding their animals especially cows in the people’s crops.

According to him, such cases of impunity should be treated individually instead of generalizing them as tribal conflicts.
