Security operatives in Kasese have advised the people who are already in leadership and those seeking election to be at the forefront of speaking against some violent activities so that they don’t re-occur in the district.

Lt. Col. Emmanuel Kafreka, the Brigade Commander for 222 Mountain Brigade sounded the advice today afternoon while addressing political candidates for the 2026 General Elections during their harmonization meeting that was organized by the Electoral Commission at the district multipurpose hall in Kasese town.

The Army Officer, who referred to the most recent attack on security installations that occurred over the weekend, regretted that most of the attackers seemed to be speaking Lhukonzo Language, appealing to the leaders to speak against such activities in their respective communities.

According to him, such incidents taint the relationship between the region and the government, arguing that they won’t accept any violent activities to happen in the country.

He, however, applauded the community members for working together with the security agencies during the incident. According to him, securityoperatives can’t manage to succeed alone.

SSP Denis Odoch, the Rwenzori East Regional Police Commander told the politicians to develop a sense of promoting peaceful co-existence in their areas.

He called for teamwork and coordination so that they are able to sustain stability in the district.

The RPC also urged the politicians to exhibit integrity and respect for one another in order to have peaceful campaigns. ENDS
