Police register high cases of accidents in Kasese

BY ABDALA MASEREKA

The Police in Kasese district have expressed a serious concern over the rate at which cases of accidents are on an increase.

SP Nelson Tumushime, the Rwenzori East Regional Police Spokesperson, says last month, they registered 28 cases of road accidents where six of them were fatal, 15 serious and seven minor.

He made the revelation yesterday morning while addressing the press at Kasese Central Police Station.

The Regional Police Mouthpiece noted that they would no longer entertain precessions and reckless driving as well as overloading passengers during political campaigns.

He used the same platform to sound a stern warning to the people involved in stealing cocoa, coffee and vanilla to stop the vice or else risk being arrested and prosecuted in the courts of law.

The Police Officer subsequently asked the farmers to cooperate with the security operatives so that the suspected thieves are brought to book.
