Kasese NRM Registrar tips candiates on safeguarding votes

BY MATHIUS KAHUNGU

The Kasese District NRM Registrar, Mr. Amon Mbusa has appealed to the candidates seeking the party flags for the positions of Sub-County Chairpersons to train their polling agents fully and deploy them at every polling station on the voting day.

Mr. Mbusa’s remarks come at a time when the ruling NRM party is set to conduct her polls to select flag bearers for the Sub- County/ Town Council Chairpersons and Parish representatives to the sub-county council on Thursday 14, this month.

Mbusa disclosed that in the recently concluded primary elections, some candidates failed to deploy even a single polling agent at some stations and at the end complained of being cheated.

It was incumbent upon the above background that the Registrar appealed to the candidates in the forthcoming elections to fully train their agents and deploy them accordingly to oversee the election exercise and guard it well as a means of eliminating cases of alleged vote rigging.

He categorically put it clear that the Party Electoral Commission was set to conduct the exercise with the help of the necessary manpower and security so that it becomes a peaceful one.
