Security operatives in Kasese recover a firearm used in the killing of Kyoga Parish Chairperson

Security operatives in Kasese district have successfully recovered a firearm suspected to have been used in the recent shooting and killing of the Parish Chairperson for Kyogha in Bwera Sub-county.

The Kasese Deputy Resident District Commissioner in-charge of Bukonzo County, Lt. (Rtd) Maate Magwara has confirmed the development.

According to Magwara, through their intelligence system, they first landed on the suspected killers and subsequently arrested them. They later revealed that they were in possession of the said gun.

Magwara told Messiah Radio that today morning, the suspects who are civilians took the security operatives to the place where the gun was kept.

He stressed that after recovering the gun, it was taken to Bwera Police Station where the suspects are in detention as inquiries into the matter continue.

Magwara happily applauded the local population for cooperating with the security operatives to search and identify the assailants.

As a security officer, Magwara strongly cautioned the opposition political leaders in the district against the act of inflicting such heinous acts to the government with an aim of tarnishing its image and the security personnel.
