The Kasese District Commercial Officer has been arrested on allegations of mismanaging funds for the Parish Development Model.
Mr. Simon Kasereka was arrested last evening on the orders of State House Officials who were in the District for monitoring of the program’s implementation.
Kasereka, who is currently detained at Kasese Central Police Station, is accused of having mismanaged 150 million shillings which is still on his personal bank account.
Whereas the police at Rwenzori East Region have declined to comment about the incident, a highly placed source at the region confirmed to the press during an interaction.
The Police Officer, who referred the press to the State House Officials for a comment, however, revealed that Kasereka was in custody to aid the investigations.
