A section of Congolese has commended the Ugandan government for creating a good working relationship and ensuring that peace and stability prevails in the country.

The Congolese expressed sounded the remarks last evening while speaking to Messiah Radio during a courtesy visit of the Bishops from Mbarara Ecclesiastical Province to St. Conrad Kasindi Catholic Parish in the Diocese of Butembo- Ben.

Ms. Sharilini Wasukundi, a member of Angles of Heaven Choir says they have now started testing the fruits of peace and stability following the intervention and efforts of the Uganda People’s Defense Forces.

According to Wasukundi, before the intervention of the UPDF, bloodshed had become rampant and some of her relatives became victims of insecurity.

Annuarite Kahambo and Mr. Jackson Kambale Kahongya, other residents say the cooperation with Uganda has promoted bilateral trade.

They, however, appealed to the religious leaders from Uganda to always pray for DRC so that peace becomes a sustainable venture.

Rev. Fr. Jean-Malie Muleresyakoma, the Parish Priest at St. Conrad Kasindi Catholic Parish encouraged the Ugandans to continue supporting the DRC since people from the two sister countries share the same ancestral relations.

The Mbarara Archdiocesan Bishop, His Grace Lambert Bainomugisha hailed the Congolese to warmly welcoming them and prayed for peace, unity and development.
