BY JOACKIM KULE MUHESI

The police in Kasese District have threatened to arrest political leaders who might be found discouraging the youth from participating in the ongoing recruitment exercise.

The Uganda Police Force is currently recruiting 10,000 young energetic youth into the force to help in enforcing law and order, detecting crime and protecting people’s property across the country.

SP Luke Mbusa, the Rwenzori East Regional Community Liaisons Officer says that they have started investigating some of the politicians within the district who have been reportedly discouraging the youth from joining the force for yet to be known reasons.

According to him, the recruitment is under the law and not determined by any political leader.

SP Mbusa also cautioned the applicants against presenting forged documents and the people who might compromise the exercise through demanding money from the interested persons.

He, however, put it categorically clear that the applicants should be physically fit, be able to work for many hours and must have no criminal records.
