Members of the security forces have embarked on a move aimed at enhancing civil-military relations in Kasese district.
Lt Joe Walusimbi, the Resident District Commissioner who also doubles as the head of security, notes that in this week, a combined force of the army, police and prisons will conduct a number of community activities including general cleanliness of the town and holding social events.
Lt Walusimbi says the events are a celebration of the Tarehe Sita, the day when the 27 National Resistance Army, the rebels launched their first attack on Kabamba barracks in Mubende on February 6 1981.
He also urged members of the security agencies to remain disciplined as they execute their jobs.
He also emphasized the need for them to diligently do their jobs and ensure to protect citizens and their property.
According to SP Nelson Mbusa, the Public Relations Officer Rwenzori East Regional Police, that the idea to conduct general cleanliness aims to encourage the communities to stay in clean environment.
