The Omusinga of Rwenzururu Kingdom Charles Wesley Mumbere has expressed his gratitude to the president of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for his continued support towards cultural institutions.
The Omusinga’s message was delivered in a written to the President through Junior Trade Minister Gen Wilson Mbasu Mbadi during their Joint thanksgiving ceremony at Kaguta Grounds in Nyakatonzi sub-county.
The Omusinga noted that the president has been deliberate in financing cultural institutions to enable them deliver on their mandate.
He also particularly thanked the president for the statehouse scholarships that have been awarded to the Rwenzururu Kingdom; and also for appointing former Bukonzo West MP Dr Chrispus Kiyonga to the position of Chancellor of the prestigious Makerere University.
The Rwenzururu King also commended President Museveni for maintaining peace in the region reiterating that peace is the bedrock for sustainable socio-economic development.
Lately, the Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu has enjoyed an improved relationship with central government; the move is seen as a fundamental step in fostering socio-economic transformation of the Rwenzururu kingdom subjects. ENDS
