Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board -UBTEB has successfully started the November/ December series of examinations.
The examinations that will be done in two weeks’ time started on Friday November 29 with a briefing session of candidates ahead of today’s papers.
A mini survey carried out by Messiah Radio at different examination centres in Kasese town indicated that most of the registered candidates for both diplomas and certificates turned up for the first papers.
At Liberty College of Management and Journalism, out of the 289 registered candidates, 05 were people living with disabilities while 02 were pregnant.
The institution’s Principal Tutor, Mr. Sezi Bwambale called on the parents not to lose hope whenever their children are impregnated while in schools, advising that such children need to be supported because they still useful.
Mr. Moses Thembo Kithuthiro, the Principal Tutor at Rwenzori College of Commerce told our reporter that all the 362 candidates for both certificates and diplomas turned up for the morning papers.
According to him, the parents should give ample time to their children to read their books so that they pass with flying colours.
At Mbarara Institute for Social Development, 02 candidates out of the 115 registered candidates didn’t turn up for the morning papers according to Mr. Deus Musiime, the Dean of Students.
He explained that one of the absentees was pregnant and the other could have gotten fees challenges.
Mr. Landaus Kaghutha, the Academic Registrar at African Ark College of Management Sciences all the 250 candidates including 110 females and 140 males turned up.
He used the same platform to appeal to the parents to offer sufficient support to their children who are doing examinations so that they do not face any interruptions.
