Trainees from Karambi and Kitabu Save a Mother Skilling Centres in Kasese district have reported a progress towards the attainment of vocational skills among the youth is concerned.
The said skilling centres located in Karambi sub-county in Bukonzo County West and Muhokya sub-county in Busongora County South are a brain child of the Kasese Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Florence Kabugho.
Yesterday, Hon. Kabugho inspected the said centres and observed that they had become symbols of hope, transformation and empowerment.
Her observation came shortly after testimonies given by the beneficiaries of living changed lives.
In his remarks, Mr. David Kibikyabu, proudly shared that the centre currently has an enrolment of 213 students including 198 women and 15 men who are being training in tailoring and hairdressing.
He hailed Hon. Kabugho for her alleged visionary leadership where young mothers have been equipped with hands-on skills and enabling them to generate income t support their families.
The students including Martin Muhindo, Elizabeth Masika, Mary Masika, Desire Kabugho and Joy Kabugho stood boldly and emotionally commended Hon. Kabugho for transforming their lives.
They described her an example of a true leader who deeply understands the needs of the local people and looks for touching solutions.
Annet Masika, the Centre Coordinator commended the great impact that the centre has had on the lives of the young mothers, appealing to Hon. Kabugho to adds more skilling courses including carpentry and welding among others to the centre for the benefit of the young men.
In her address, Hon. Kabugho applauded the students for their commitment, resilience and determination. She encouraged them to remain focused and fully utilize the skills acquired to realize improved lives.
