A concerned Civil Society Organization in Kasese District has urged the parents to connect with their children during the current holiday break in order to discover the challenges that they go through while at school and then forge a way forward towards addressing them.
The argument comes at a time when school-going children in Kasese district are breaking off for the December holiday and Christmas festive.
Joseph Kahyana the Director at Agape of Hope Female Youth Development Association, a concerned Civil Society Organization, says the parents need to take the holiday break as an opportunity for them to develop a friendly relationship with their children so that they discuss their academic progress with them.
According to him, as schools reopen their doors next year, many children will be joining new classes after being promoted, calling upon the parents to spare some time and talk to their children about their expectations, goals and challenges as well as offering guidance and support to them hat could see them excel in their academic journey.
He asked the parents to always engage their children in their economic activities during the current holiday break especially those involved in business and agriculture among others.
