Residents of Kihalimu- Kyaminyoku Cell in Nyakabingo II Ward of the Central Division in Kasese Municipality were today afternoon stranded with a dead body of toddler who was found having been dumped in the Nyakabingo-Kihalimu Water Channel by a yet to be known mother.
The toddler, female by sex, who is suspected to have been born out of an aborted pregnancy of about of between five and six months, is said to have been dumped in the area by its mother.
Isaac Kalyabyuma, the Chairperson Local Council II for Nyakabingo II Ward, confirmed the incident to the press while at the scene of crime, noting that they had launched investigations aimed at ascertaining the mother of the dead toddler.
Mr. Kalyabyumaalso revealed that they had notified the police at Kasese Central Police Sation so that they too commence with the investigations about the incident that he described as criminal.
By press time, the body of the dead toddler was still at the scene of crime as the residents were still waiting for police to come on ground and document the scene.
