Members of Rwenzori Athletes’ Association based in Kasese Municipality have revealed their readiness to participate in the forthcoming International Mt. Rwenzori Tusker Lite Marathon slated for August 23, 2025 in Kasese district.
The marathon is expected to attract thousands of people including runners from all over the world.
Sponsored by Kithulha Care Initiative, the Athletes revealed that they had done enough practice to enable run through the hills and mountains.
Speaking to the press yesterday afternoon, Ms Eva Masika, 30, a resident of Basecamp Lower in the Central Division who is currently making practice to participate in the 42 kilometre- run was optimistic that the training she had made would lead her to success.
Mr. Lwanzo Muhasa Mahindasi, a 63-year-old resident of Railway Ward noted that he would participate as a way of showing his potential in sports despite being old.
Mr. Francis Mugisa Kithulha, who is sponsoring 40 Athletes from Kasese district while addressing them at Nyakasanga Playground, encouraged them to work hard in order to win all the races so that Kasese district becomes on map.
