Councillors attached to Kasese Municipal Council have been cautioned against the practice of indecent dressing during council sittings and public functions.
The caution was sounded today afternoon by the Council Speaker, Hebert Bwambale, during the first council sitting at the Central Division Council Hall.
Bwambale explained that the policy doesn’t allow council members to dress indecently when conducting council businesses.
According to him, all male councilors are required to dress in suits with neck ties while the females are mandated to dress in attires that give them respect especially those that do not expose some of their private body parts.
He also observed the need for proper time management among the Councillors, noting that it was one of the principles to be followed in order for them to deliver effective services to the population.
The Kasese Municipality Mayor, Chance Kahindo, informed the Councillors that they had filled some of the gaps in the public service including engineers, commercial officers, auditors and the human resource officer among others to enhance service delivery to the population.
He asked the councilors to work together and ensure that all the resources that they allocate for some projects are utilized for the benefit of the community members.
The Kasese District Councilor representing the Central Division, Jolly Kahyana, encouraged the Municipal Councillors to work closely with the technical team in monitoring projects that the government gives to the communities.
