The police in Bwera Division of Kasese District are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of Kabugho Isebitsange, a 43-old year-businesswoman whose body was today morning found lying lifeless on her bed.

Rwenzori East Regional Police Spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate, told the press that it was alleged that today at about 07:30hrs at Karambi village while one of the residents was looking for animal feeds (grass) near the house of the deceased, he saw her house closed from the inside while smoke was coming out from it.

ASP Maate indicated that calls by the resident went unanswered raising his suspicion and prompting him to call other neighbours who later forced the door to open only to find deceased lying naked on her bed and charcoal was burning in the house.

The regional police mouthpiece said the matter was subsequently reported to police who visited, examined and document the scene before the body was retrieved and conveyed to Bwera General Hospital for a post mortem examination.

Maate, however, said the body of the deceased also had visible bruises on several body parts including the neck, chest, arm and the leg.

He added that the police have commenced investigations into this matter to ascertain the exact cause of death. ENDS
