The Kasese Grade I Magistrate’s Court has set September 22, 2026 as the date on which it will receive feedback following several mediation engagements of a civil case between Mahango Mambule Microfinance, Robert MC Isingoma and Mahango Sub-county Local Government.
Mahango Mambule Microfinance dragged Mr. Isingoma, the former Mahango Sub-county Chief and Mahango Sub-county Local Government to court under Civil Suit number 035 of 2025 following a breach of a house rent agreement.
Mr. Uzziah Muke, the Chairperson for the plaintiff (Mahango Mambule Microfinance), the authorities of Mahango sub-county entered into agreement with them in 2018 and rented part of their premises to accommodate Mahango Police Station and only paid the first five months.
According to Mr. Muke, the Sub-county has since defaulted for the last eight years which prompted them to seek legal redress and filed the case in June 2025.
He added that under the guidance and direction of court, they have since undergone several mediation engagements and agreed on shillings 6 million which the second respondent (Mahango Sub-county Local Government) is yet to consent to.
However, in his defense, the lawyer for the first defendant (Mr. Isingoma), Chrispus Mpogha distanced his client from the suit, arguing that the matters of hiring accommodation for police were not under his mandate, advising the plaintiff to instead sue the Attorney General.
Court presided over by His Worship Faishal Mbale Ngamije then fixed September 22, 2026 as the date on which it will receive feedback and directed the parties to continue with mediation and deliver the results of the consent for final disposal and settlement of the matter. ENDS
