Kasese Woman MP emphasizes vocational skills’ training

The Kasese District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Florence Kabugho, has urged residents of Busongora County North, particularly out-of-school youth to take up vocational skills as a means of tackling unemployment.

Speaking at a political rally in Bwesumbu Sub-County, Kabugho emphasized the importance of acquiring practical skills to create self-employable opportunities. 

She noted that her office has established vocational skilling centres across the district and encouraged community members to utilize these facilities.

Hon. Kabugho said the skilling centres are equipped and ready to equip the youth with the necessary skills and take advantage of this opportunity to create their own employment 

The legislator’s call aims to address the pressing issue of unemployment among the youth in the region, promoting economic empowerment and self-sufficiency.

She used the same podium to urge the parents and guardians in the district and neighbouring areas to start preparing for their children’s school fees since the first term is soon commencing.

In his political speech, Mr. Geoffrey Sibendire Thembo Bigogo, the FDC candidate for the position of District Chairperson, promised to fully facilitate the education sector and provide other services if elected in the forthcoming 2026 General Elections.
