Residents of Kihalimu-Kyaminyoku Cell in Nyakabingo II Ward of the Central Division in Kasese Municipality were today morning treated with shock after the officials from Uganda Wildlife Authority left the area without tracing the whereabouts of the stray lion that had earlier been reported in the community.

Speaking to our reporter who had visited the area following the reports, Chrispus Masereka, testified that he saw a stray animal resembling a lion at 7:00am trying to attack a goat that was tied on a mango tree behind their house.

Maseraka explained that after failing to eat up the goat, the stray animal took off, adding that they were not aware of its whereabouts, forcing them to live in fear for their lives.

Some of the residents have since called upon UWA to intervene in the matter and have the wildlife animals escaping from the park to the communities rehabilitated.

Meanwhile, IsaacKalyabyuma, the Chairperson L.CII for Nyakabingo II urged the residents to ensure vigilance.
