The Bishop of South Rwenzori Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Nason Baluku has today commissioned a three – day Diocesan Residential Couples’ Conference with call on the couples to always live prayerful lives in their marriages.
The conference that is ongoing at Shiloh Hotel in Kasese town is in line the Ten- year Diocesan Strategic Plan that aims to eradicate cases of domestic violence through organizing couples’ retreats as a platform to pass on the messages against the vice to the targeted audience.
Organized under the theme, “Encouraging believers not to grow tired of doing good,” as scripted in the Biblical Book of Galatians 6:9, the Bishop appealed to the participants to spread what they would learn from the conference to their fellows who did not get the chance to attend.
The Bishop explained that a peaceful family yields a peaceful church hence translating to bringing up responsible residents of the nation.
Mr. Ivan Syauswa and Mrs. Aidah Syauswa who have been in marriage for 50 years attributed their success to the friendship that they developed before joining the institution of marriage. The duo acknowledged that stress in marriages was among the reasons why people look older than their actual age hence contracting diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.
